Sometimes

Reaching for childhood’s nest of gladness

Gadget lover

The car is moving at a smooth pace and the voice of Alanis Morisette fills the air with irony. I sing along happily while the HP( husband pig) says, dont we like another song of hers? after asking me who was singing. He was referring to the City of angels song in our assorted CD that I normally play on loop in the car.

Me being the lyric lover, spouted out a few lines from the song ‘Ironic’ and was most astonished to find him looking very interested. He excitedly said’Sounds really good. I will look up the lyrics’. After feeling my neck for any possible fever causing such hallucinations of HP being interested in lyrics, I smiled back surprised.

At this moment the song ended on the radio and our HP was like ‘cha’. I wanted to get the lyrics. I slyly said ‘but I know the name of the song. You can look it up’

HP replies ‘thats not the point. I wanted to use the app on my iphone where I can recognize the song while it is playing and then look it up on the internet’

Ha. The interest in lyrics had to have a gadget gratification ending.

And so it is..

And, though the shadow of a sigh May tremble through the story, For “happy summer days” gone by, And vanish’d summer glory— It shall not touch with breath of bale, The pleasance of our fairy-tale.
